We are a couple at the end of our 60s living in Europe. Wildlife photography has been a hobby of my wife’s and mine for a long time. We have made several individual photo trips to South Africa, Botswana and Kenya and so we got a lot of experience in the past.
This year we wanted to try something new. I made a research on the internet. We liked the information on the website as well as Nilesh’s experience and especially his photos, so I booked spontaneously the same day .Booking, information, payment, organization and communication with Nilesh was perfect.
On a safari in Africa we prefer to be in a private conservancy, because of off-roading and less other tourists, only in a very small group and with a professional photography tour leader. We got it all.
Porini lion camp was an ideal place, the member of the staff , all Masais, were very friendly and they did a perfect job. Also our two Masai guides were very experienced and they did a great job. The most important and the best was the care of our travel guide Nilesh who really organized everything perfectly. He has a great experience as a photographer, was always able to give us good tips and suggestions and last but not least, with his help we were to make much better photos than we could have done without his support.
We will definitely go on a safari again with NimTree Safaris and Nilesh Rathod and can therefore only warmly recommend both.
Mr & Mrs Carsley (UK) – Tiger Photography Safari , India 2016. (Rated ★★★★★)
“We have just enjoyed a fantastic 8 day tiger photographic safari with NimTree. We were lucky enough to have several absolutely brilliant sightings of tigers and cubs, plus the real bonus of great sightings of 7 sloth bears (one at a waterhole and one marking his territory by standing up and scratching his back against the trees) and a leopard.
The keys to success were 1) going to the right National Parks (Tadoba and Kanha, in our case), 2) going with a company that has everything set up to achieve success – this included going to the right area of the Parks (they are very large!), having expert guides, and going at the right time of year. We went in May, which is hot, but bearable, and sightings of tigers are much more common than in the cooler months from February to March.
Another important feature of the trip was the accommodation and the meals – all of which were at the best hotels in the area.
I still cannot believe how lucky we were with our sightings of all the animals – although as you can see, not all of it was ‘luck’ – and I have no hesitation in recommending NimTree as a brilliant company to go with to photograph tigers in the wild.”

“I have just been on a Nimtree wildlife photographic tour of two of India’s tiger reserves. The tour itself was very well organised. The accommodation at Tadoba National Park at the IRAI safari resort was good however the Singinawa jungle lodge at Kanha National Park was excellent.
The staff could not have been more helpful and the food was first class. A lovely touch was the inclusion of two comprehensive mammal and bird field guide books in each room allowing you to confirm what you saw during the drives.
The parks themselves were fascinating with a wide variety of flora and fauna so even if tigers are not co-operating there is plenty other characters to entertain. The guides and drivers were very knowledgeable and can spot things whilst driving along that most people wouldn’t spot if stationary.
The beauty of it is the small group size allowing unobstructed views and plenty of room for equipment and to move around. If you have any photographic queries then there is help at hand to add to the experience.
For anyone keen on wildlife whether a photographer or not I can recommend this trip.”
